Revolving around  improvised guitar drone and by combining textural &amp; structural  elements of ambient\/noise, electronic\/shoegaze, post-punk\/krautrock,  black\/doom metal, thisquietarmy creates a wide range of dynamic  soundscapes which oscillates between repetitive dreamy minimalism,  multi-layered noise textures and electronic industrial beats.<br>Following  up the critically acclaimed industrial black metal album,  &#8220;Anthems for  Catharsis&#8221; (Consouling Sounds, 2015), heavy drone opus  &#8220;M\u00e9tamorphose&#8221;  (Grains of Sand, 2017), sci-fi synthwave revivalist  &#8220;Democracy for Dust&#8221;  (Midira Records, 2017), thisquietarmy follows with  &#8220;The Body and The  Earth&#8221;, a heavy full-band post-drone album on  Consouling Sounds (October  2018). 2019 marks the debut output of Some  Became Hollow Tubes, a new  project with Godspeed You! Black Emperor\u2019s  drummer Aidan Girt.<br> Since  2005, thisquietarmy has put out close to 50 releases on more than  30  different labels such as Consouling Sounds, Denovali Records,  Aurora  Borealis, Alien8 Recordings, Shelter Press &amp; three:four  Records. His  vast discography also includes collaborations with Aidan  Baker (Nadja),  Scott Cortez (loveliescrushing), Andr\u00e9 Foisy (Locrian),  Labirinto,  Monarch, Noveller, Syndrome (Amenra), USA Out of Vietnam,  Year Of No  Light &amp; Yellow6, and has taken co-founded other bands  such as  Berlin-based space rock collective Hypnodrone Ensemble &amp;  Montreal  defunct post-shoegazer band Destroyalldreamers. He also  collaborates  live with Godspeed You! Black Emperor&#8217;s 16mm filmmaker  Philippe Leonard  as an A\/V duo (Alchemic Rites) performing at film  festivals such as Mono  No Aware Cinema Arts festival (New York),  Filmmaker Festival (Milan)  &amp; Analogica Festival (Bolzano).  <br>With a large body of work and  close to 600 live performances in 40  countries, including performances  at esteemed festivals such as Drone  Activity in Progress for Red Bull  Music Academy (Montreal), Nemo  Digital Arts Biennale (France), Incubate  Festival (Netherlands), Le  Guess Who? (Netherlands), Into The Void  (Netherlands), Dunk!
