Joke Lanz was born in Basel in 1965 and lives in Berlin since the late 90’s. He is a pioneer of the electronic Independent scene and crossover artist whose work spans improvised and experimental music, noise and turntablism, performance art and musique concrète. He regularly performs with his band Sudden Infant or in various combinations throughout the improv and noise scene or as solo artist with voice and electronics. He’s a member of the internationally renowned Schimpfluch Gruppe alongside of Rudolf Eb.er and Dave Phillips.
He collaborated with: Shelley Hirsch, Peter Kowald, Christian Marclay, Astro, Z’EV, Lasse Marhaug, Jorge Sanchez-Chiong, Strotter Inst, Christian Weber, Ute Wassermann, DJ Olive, Sophie Agnel, dieb13, Martin Tétreault, Eklekto Ensemble, Alexandre Babel, Kazuhisa Uchihashi, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Mette Rasmussen, GX Jupitter- Larsen, The New Blockaders, just to name a few.

In his brand new solo program he will present compositions from his new studio album “Zungsang” (Force Majeure), a rework of his 2023 cassette on Vice de Forme. A unique blend of physical sound poetry and epileptic noise bursts, created with contact microphones, voices, electronics and rhythms. Major themes of his intense musical universe are childhood experiences, physical eruptions, psycho mechanisms and absurdities of human destiny.

Frank Wilke verbindet Stimme, Trompete, Posaune und gelegentlich auch Waldhorn mit Elektronik zu einem vielschichtigen Klangkörper. In dieser Performance verschmelzen Atem, Metall und Resonanz zu einem organischen Ganzen – ein Spiel mit Erwartung und Irritation, ein Dialog zwischen Instrument und Körper. Die Stimme dient dabei nicht nur als Träger von Text oder Ton, sondern als erweitertes Instrument: flüsternd, röchelnd, schreiend, singend. Mikrotonalität und Extended Techniques machen den Auftritt zu einem immersiven Erlebnis jenseits traditioneller Hörgewohnheiten.
